Andrea Davies Skillman, 39, of Hendersonville, beloved by friends and family, passed away Saturday, March 25, 2017. Andrea was born in Winter Haven, FL, and moved to Hendersonville with her family as a child, attending Etowah Elementary, Rugby Junior High, and West Henderson High. She loved calling Hendersonville home, and except for the time she spent in Chapel Hill attending UNC, was a lifelong resident of Henderson County.
Andrea began working for The Cliffs on January 1, 2001, where, most recently, she served as the Director of Marketing. Andrea’s organizational skills were legendary, and her career allowed her to use those skills to plan lovely events for all of The Cliffs communities.
Andrea is survived by her husband Jon of 17 years, and their beloved dog Captain; her parents, Darla Brovet (and the late Ben) of Tega Cay, SC and Dave and Muriel Davies of Tampa, FL; her brother Jeff Brovet (Erin) of Raleigh; her brother Sean Brovet (Cathy) of Hendersonville; her sister Monica Houck (Hunter) of Wilmington; her sister Sara Purcell (Jason) of Tega Cay, SC; her mother-in-law Diane Skillman of Hendersonville; her father-in-law Neil Skillman (Melody) of Columbus; her sister-in-law Courtney Dozier (Nick) of Wake Forest; her brother-in-law Shawn Skillman (Erin Johnson) of Columbia, SC; her stepsister-in-law Sunny Bush of Columbus; her step-siblings Lori Buck, Danny Blasciak, and Michael Blasciak, all of Tampa, FL; sixteen very loved nieces and nephews, who knew her as Aunt Oosh; and many other aunts, uncles, and cousins who will mourn her loss.
A memorial service will be held at 11AM on Tuesday, March 28, 2017, at The Cliffs at Glassy Chapel, 98 The Cliffs Parkway, Landrum, SC. Immediately following the service, the family will receive visitors at a drop-in reception from 12PM to 3PM, held at The Cliffs Valley Clubhouse, 250 Knightsridge Road, Travelers Rest, SC. Andrea requested that gentlemen observe a dress code of country club casual (no jeans), and ladies, please leave the black clothing in the closet, and instead celebrate her life with beautiful spring attire.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Andrea’s memory may be given to the Andrea Davies Skillman Memorial Scholarship Fund through the Henderson County Community Foundation. Please find more information and share memories and photos of Andrea at www.teamoosh.com.
